Starting Salary: $62,114 PER YEAR BASE PAY WHILE IN TRAINING $68,481 PER YEAR WHEN ACADEMY & FIELD TRAINING ARE COMPLETE.
Primary office location: 100 E First St.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
About the position:
- This is a general duty police work in enforcing laws and ordinances, for the protection of life and property, prevention, detection, and investigation of crime
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age and be in excellent physical condition.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
- Must possess basic computer knowledge.
- Must possess and excellent history of personal conduct, behavior, and employment, and have no felony convictions.
- Must be able to learn modern approved principles, practices, and procedures of police work.
- Must have high level of intelligence and emotional stability, decision making, and leadership skills.
- Must be able to maintain information confidentiality, have tact and diplomacy, and have the ability to deal with stressful, hostile, or irrational persons/situations.
In addition to the above, applicants MUST HAVE the following qualification.
- Completed a minimum of thirty (30) hours of college credit by May 20, 2023, with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.
- Must Include Official Transcript with questionnaire.
All selected candidates will be required to pass the Edmond Basic Police Academy and the Edmond Police Field Training Program.
